• Early Life
Chrissy Teigen was born in Delta (Utah) on November 30, 1985. She spent much of her childhood in different places as Hawaii, Idaho, and Snohomish abd Seattle.Teigen’s dad, Ron, worked as an electrician, so the family moved often. After years, the family settled in Huntington Beach, California. Teigen’s mother, Vilailuck, is from Thailand and her American father is of Norwegian ancestry. Chrissy didn’t dream of becoming a model. As she told the Daily Beast website, “I always wanted to be a teacher or wanted to do something with food. But modeling, I just never thought I could do it myself really ever.”
Despite her personal doubts, she was discovered around the age of 18 while working at a surf shop in California. She spent a lot of time in her early career working on catalog shoots. Teigen met singer and musician John Legend in 2006 when she was cast in the musical video for his song “Stereo.” The pair eventually became an item. Professionally, Teigen had a career breakthrough three years later when she was featured as “Rookie of the Year” in Sports Illustrated’s famous swimsuit issue. She went on to appear in several more editions of the swimsuit issue, even landing on the cover in 2014 with models Nina Agdal and Lily Aldridge. Teigen got engaged to singer John Legend in 2011. The pair tied the knot in September 2013. They held their wedding ceremony in Lake Como, Italy, and Teigen’s friend and fellow model Brooklyn Decker served as her maid of honor. In 2015, Teigen and Legend announced that they were expecting their first child together, conceived through in vitro fertilization. Later, she revealed on her talk show FabLife that she and her husband had been struggling with fertility issues for years. Finally, the couple welcomed their daughter Luna Simone on April 14, 2016 and son Miles Theodore Stephens on May 17, 2018.
