Will little Luna Simone soon be getting a sibling?

Model Chrissy Teigen reveals in InStyle’s November cover story that she and husband John Legend will soon attempt to get pregnant with their second child through in vitro fertilization.

The star has long been candid about having to undergo IVF to conceive daughter Luna, now 17 months. The frozen embryo that Teigen will have implanted within the coming months is the couple’s final one left from fertility treatments she underwent several years ago.

Teigen, 31, reveals that she and Legend, 38, started with 20 embryos, but that number was narrowed down to three after screening and based on what was “going to be good for [my] body.”

Vilailuck Teigen Talks About Her Daughter’s Upcoming Cookbook

Vilailuck Teigen is one of the Internet’s favorite moms. Living with model and cookbook author Chrissy Teigen and singer-actor John Legend, she makes frequent cameos in the candid videos and pictures that her daughter posts, casually filling the kitchen with homemade sausages or reenacting scenes from Varsity Blues. But Vilailuck (or Pepper, as her family likes to call the spice-loving matriarch) has her own public presence, too, sharing pictures of her farmers’ market hauls, pepper-filled papaya salads, and, like any good mom, photos of her daughter and granddaughter.

Pepper worked closely with Chrissy on her first cookbook, Cravings, and made sure to infuse the whole book with a healthy dose of heat. In a tribute chapter titled “Thai Mom,” Chrissy writes about some of the spicier dishes her mom likes to cook for the family, like jok (rice porridge), pad grapow (stir-fried basil chicken), beef salad, and of course two different kinds of hot sauce. On a recent afternoon while Pepper and Chrissy tested out a new recipe for a soup called tom kha gai for Chrissy’s next cookbook, I called into the Teigen-Legend household to talk about nicknames, spice tolerance, and the importance of carrying ghost chiles around in one’s purse.

Who was the first person to call you Pepper? How did that nickname come about?
My husband. I love hot food, and my name is kind of long. Every time I eat, I have to have peppers or something spicy. Sometimes we even have a contest to see who can eat hotter, and I always win. Continue Reading Vilailuck Teigen Talks About Her Daughter’s Upcoming Cookbook

Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About Struggling With Alcohol

The rosé was everywhere at Rose Café in Venice but Chrissy Teigen was sipping from a can of Red Bull. It was a little before noon. Attendees, most of whom wore sundresses and beachy waves, stood idly at the inaugural Chase Sapphire Sundays: Brunch with Chrissy Teigen event, drinking their frosé cocktails garnished with rose petals. They were trying to get a glimpse of their host, who, for the time being, was sitting behind a mesh screen, cross-legged on her chair.

She was feeling tired, she said, maybe a little jet-lagged. Teigen, John Legend, and their 16-month-old daughter Luna have been vacationing a bit more than usual this summer. They had recently come back from Italy and would soon be leaving for another vacation. They are focusing on travel because “a lot of stuff’s about to come,” Teigen said. “We’re going to try to have a child. This is for us to try to get in the zone of ‘let’s travel, let’s be away together, let’s see our closest friends,’ and then we’re going to have to do something super hard, which is the IVF process, all over again.” Continue Reading Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About Struggling With Alcohol

Chrissy Teigen Wishes This Popular Food Trend Would End

It’s very unlikely you’ll ever see Chrissy Teigen drinking a Unicorn Frappuccino, or anything Unicorn-themed for that matter.

The model and cookbook author told People on Wednesday while promoting McDonald’s McDelivery service that she is “exhausted” by the new trend.

“The unicorn burrito with cotton candy? That’s not a burrito. That’s a tortilla filled with cotton candy and jelly on it,” she says. “I’m just not understanding a lot of things in the food world and I feel like it’s all about the Instagram now. I mean, I’m old school in the way where I’m like just serve good food and people will come to it. Now everyone feels like they need a gimmick and you really don’t—just make good, hearty beautiful food.”

When it comes to what food she would like to see have a moment in the food world, she had two words: meat pies.

“I do feel like meat pies haven’t taken off enough in the United States,” Teigen says. “Everywhere else they appreciate a good meat pie, like at the gas station you get a meat pie. They’re so easy to hold, so delicious. Ugh, I love them.”

While chatting with PEOPLE, Teigen also gave an update on her upcoming second cookbook, saying the process has been difficult: “The first one, it’s every recipe you know you love, your family loves, then you start to work on the second one and John [Legend] compares it to a second album,” she says. “You want to change it up but you also know why it worked so well in the first place so you don’t want to change it up too much.” The mom to daughter Luna, 1, with husband Legend says her palate has also changed. “Writing the last book I was pregnant, and promoting the last book I was pregnant and the food that I loved is different from the food that I love now,” she says. “That’s definitely the challenge in it.”

“I keep saying I want to put in a few more healthy options in the book but that doesn’t tell the right story,” Teigen says. “To have like a tuna casserole oozing with cheese and then next to it a pomegranate salad or something, that drives me wild, it makes me anxious even thinking about it. So basically I either have to let that part go and realize everyone has different palates and in the same way that I sometimes want a light salad, sometimes I want a casserole. I just have to figure out mentally how to get past that.”
